Responsible Care
Voluntary worldwide initiative with the goal to make steady improvements with respect to environment, safety and health

As we work towards a sustainable future, BASF is committed to Responsible Care® , a voluntary, worldwide initiative of the American Chemistry Council (ACC) launched in 1988. The key areas of Responsible Care® are environmental and health protection, product stewardship, plant and transportation safety and emergency responses as well as conducting an open dialogue with society. It applies to products and services at all of BASF’s sites.
As a 100% subsidiary of BASF group, BTC fully supports the Responsible Care® initiative : we do not merely consider it to be just another word for environmental protection but rather a prominent part of our corporate culture that determines the ethics which govern our actions.
Corporate Guidelines
Responsible Care® : Let people benefit from our work
-
We are willing to continuously improve safety, health and environmental protection. This is done at our own responsibility and in agreement with the authorities. We take the initiative to do what is necessary, even where no legal or regulatory mandate exists.
-
Economic considerations are not given precedence over environmental protection and safety.
-
We promote safety, health and environmental awareness of our employees.
-
We regard scientific and technological progress in the areas of safety, health and environmental protection and product safety as an important task of its own.
-
Prior to making any decision we weigh opportunities and risks of new findings and technologies carefully in dialogue with the scientific community and the public.
-
We look for an open dialogue with socially important opinion makers. It is our goal to foster mutual understanding and increase people's confidence in our actions.
-
An important contribution towards sustainable development is our participation in the world-wide initiative of “Responsible Care“. This goes for our products and services at any site.
